PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide : a single cell for a solid oxide fuel cell of a high output, by which a high current voltage characteristic can be achieved even if the water vapor concentration in a fuel gas is increased owing to a high fuel utilization rate; a fuel electrode which enables the materialization of a solid oxide type electrochemical cell capable of working as a solid oxide type electrolysis cell having an excellent performance; and an ion conductive material which can be used for a solid electrolyte layer. SOLUTION : An ion conductive material according to the present invention comprises a zirconia based oxide. The zirconia based oxide includes Yb within a range of 6 mol or more and 30 mol or less to 100 mole of Zr, and includes a rare earth element other than ytterbium within a range of 0.005 mole or more and 8 mole or less to 100 mol of Zr. The zirconia based oxide has a crystal structure having a main phase of cubic crystal. The ion conductive material can be used for a solid oxide type electrochemical cell. It will be suitably used as e.g. a fuel electrode (fuel electrode layer 112) of a single cell 1 for a solid oxide fuel cell and/or a material of a solid electrolyte layer 13.
