PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a collagen material high in biocompatibility, capable of being used as a cell culture substrate and having elongation anisotropism.
SOLUTION : There is provided a stretchable collagen sheet, in which collagen constituting the stretchable collagen sheet is re-fibrillated collagen fibril crosslinked by at least one kind of γ ray irradiation, electron beam irradiation, UV irradiation and plasma irradiation in the presence of an aqueous solvent, the re-fibrillated collagen fibril is oriented with almost regularity, when an orientation direction of the re-fibrillated collagen fibril is a first direction and a right direction to the first direction on a planar of the stretchable collagen sheet is a second direction, the sheet has stretchability in the first direction and the second direction, respectively at a wet state after impregnating the sheet into a phosphate buffered saline for at least 1 day at 20°C, and the sheet has larger elongation anisotropism that an elongation rate in the second direction is larger than that in the first direction.
