A catalytic cracking catalyst and a preparation method therefor. The catalyst comprises a modified Y-type molecular sieve containing rare earth, an aluminum oxide binder comprising a catalyst, and clay. The content of oxidized rare earth is about 4% to 12% by weight, the content of phosphorus is 0 to 10% by weight, the content of sodium oxide is not more than about 1.0% by weight, the total pore volume is about 0.36 mL/g to 0.48 mL/g, the pore volume of secondary pores the pore size of which is 2 nm-100 nm occupies for about 20% to 40% of the total pore volume, the cell constant is about 2.440 nm to 2.455 nm, the content of the non-skeleton aluminum is not higher than about 10%, the lattice collapse temperature is not lower than about 1060ºC, and a ratio of B acid to L acid is not less than about 3.50 in an total acid amount of the modified Y-type molecular sieve measured at 200ºC by using a pyridine adsorption infrared method. When the catalyst is used in heavy oil catalytic cracking, the catalyst has a higher heavy oil conversion activity and a lower coke selectivity, and has a higher gasoline yield, a higher liquefied gas yield, a higher light oil yield and a higher total liquid yield.
