PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for producing a magnetic powder of a rare earth magnet alloy having high magnetic properties. SOLUTION : A method for producing a magnetic powder includes : a reduction step of reducing an oxide precursor of a rare earth magnet alloy by using Ca species to produce a rare earth magnet alloy; and a removing step of changing Ca species remaining in the rare earth magnet alloy after the reduction step to Ca(OH)2 and removing it.
