PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an R-Fe-B based rare earth magnet so that R mainly consists of Ce, which enables the increase in coercive force even if a rare earth element R1 other than Ce is very small in content.
SOLUTION : A rare earth magnet comprises main phases, grain boundary phases that are present around the main phases, and intermediate phases located between the main phases and the grain boundary phases. The rare earth magnet has a general composition represented by the formula, CepR1qT(100-p-q-r-s)BrM1s (R21-xM2x)t (where R1 and R2 represent a rare earth element other than Ce; T represents one or more selected from Fe, Ni and Co; M1 represents an element small in content; and M2 represents an alloy element, which makes a melting point of R21-xM2x lower than a melting point of R2 when alloyed with R2), provided that 11.80≤p≤12.90. In the rare earth magnet, the main phases are higher than the intermediate phases in Ce concentration, and the intermediate phases are higher than the main phases in R2 concentration.
