The present disclosure relates to the field of packaging technology, and provides a packaging material, an OLED device and a method for packaging the OLED device, so as to prevent the appearance of a transparent display device from being adversely affected by a black packaging structure formed by the packaging material. The packaging material for a transparent device includes a primary ingredient including a rare earth metal oxide, zinc oxide, aluminum oxide and silicon dioxide, and an adhesive for adhering the primary ingredient. The rare earth metal oxide has a primary adsorption wavelength within a wavelength range of infrared or ultraviolet light. It is able to use the packaging material for packaging, especially for packaging the OLED device.
