PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an antimicrobial fiber having high antifungal properties and high washing resistance, method of producing the same, and antimicrobial fiber product using the antimicrobial fiber. SOLUTION : Antimicrobial fiber of this invention has a rare earth nitrate salt exhausted into the fiber, and results in the fiber having antifungal properties. The rare earth nitrate is preferably at least one selected from cerium (III)nitrate, cerium (IV) nitrate, lanthanum nitrate, and gadolinium nitrate. According to this production method, the fiber is impregnated or contacted with the aqueous solution of rare earth nitrate, then the rare earth nitrate is exhausted into the fiber at a temperature of from 60°C to 130°C, or the fiber sheet is impregnated with the aqueous solution of rare earth nitrate via pad-dry-cure method, thereby the rare earth nitrate is exhausted into the fiber. The product is provided in the form of at least one selected from cotton, yarn, braid, woven fabric, knitting, nonwoven fabric, and molding. SELECTED DRAWING : Figure 1 COPYRIGHT : (C)2018, JPO&INPIT
