FIELD : material engineering. SUBSTANCE : invention can be used for surfacing coatings on metal parts, in particular for the manufacture of products by the method of layer-by-layer additive robotic surfacing. On the surface of the aluminum rod, a composite coating is performed consisting of a metal matrix and a dispersed phase distributed in it from a mixture of nanoscale carbide particles and rare earth metal compounds with a particle size of less than 1000 nm in the following ratio, wt. % : metal matrix 55-96, nanoscale carbide particles 3.9-40, nanoscale particles of rare earth metal compounds 0.1-5. As an aluminum rod, a wire, tape or rod made of pure aluminum or aluminum alloy is used. As a composite coating matrix, a metal selected from the group is used : nickel, titanium, iron, copper and chromium. Carbides are selected from the group : tungsten carbide, silicon carbide, chromium carbide, molybdenum carbide, vanadium carbide, titanium carbide, niobium carbide, hafnium carbide, tantalum carbide, boron carbide and zirconium carbide. Rare earth metal compounds were selected from the group : lanthanum fluoride, yttrium fluoride, cerium fluoride, lanthanum boride, yttrium boride, cerium boride, lanthanum oxide, yttrium oxide and cerium oxide.
