PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a manufacturing method of a permanent magnet material.
SOLUTION : A manufacturing method is for plating a front surface of a sintered magnet with a heavy rare earth metal by accepting an ion liquid plating processing, and forming a magnet with a plating layer. The sintered magnet has a thickness of 10 mm or less in at least one direction. In the ion liquid plating processing, plating liquid includes : ion liquid, heavy rare earth salt, VIII group metal salt, alkali metal salt, and an additive agent. A positive electrode is the heavy rare earth metal or heavy rare earth alloy. A negative electrode is the sintered magnet. A plating temperature is in a range of 20 to 50°C. A plating time is in a range of 15 to 80 mins. The manufacturing method can improve a magnet intrinsic coercive force at a low cost, manufacturing efficiency, and availability of heavy rare earth.
