The object of the present invention is to provide a contrast agent which has superior safety and good relaxation, and can diagnose multiple diseases at once. To this end, the present invention provides a contrast agent which comprises, as a main component, gadolinium (Gd) which is a paramagnetic material, wherein the contrast agent is further doped with other rare earth elements so the contrast agent responds to lights in different wavelength bandwidths through a combination of rare earth elements, and is composed to be attached with a specific material capable of detecting a particular disease so a patient administered with the contrast agent can be diagnosed with multiple diseases at once. Further, according to the present invention, gadolinium oxide (Gd_2O_3) nanoparticles or gadolinium oxide (Gd_2O_3) nanoparticles doped with rare earth elements are coated with silicon oxide (SiO_2) to improve dispersibility and colloidal stability, thereby improving diagnosability, and toxicity of Gd is more rigorously controlled to enhance safety.
