PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a separation recovery technology of dysprosium capable of recovering dysprosium at high purity by separating the same from other rare earth elements, a technology capable of simply separating and recovering dysprosium at low cost without patting complex processes, and further a separation recovery technology of dysprosium capable of separating and recovering the same as a valuable material which has commercial value as an industrial raw material. SOLUTION : There is provided a separation recovery method of dysprosium having (i) a process for contacting nucleic acid with a free from with a sample containing dysprosium in a solution, (ii) a process for separating and recovering a precipitate formed by a bind with the nucleic acid with the free form, (iii) a process for adding a sodium carbonate solution containing sodium carbonate at over 15% of final concentration to the precipitate and reacting them in a temperature range of over 50°C and 100°C or less, and (iv) a process for separating and recovering dysprosium eluted as a soluble component by isolating a soluble fraction of a reaction liquid after the reaction with the sodium carbonate solution.
