PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a polycarbonate resin having higher surface hardness and less color tone deterioration such as yellowing than these of conventional known polycarbonate resin, and a polycarbonate resin composition having high transparency and excellent color tone after mixing with a blue ink agent and high flame resistance and less debris.SOLUTION : There is provided a polycarbonate resin containing a structural unit derived from an aromatic dihydroxy compound and having the content of the structural unit derived from a compound represented by the formula (2) of 1 ppm to 40 ppm.
