PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide : a rare earth-based bond magnet composition which has sufficient heat resistance, high mechanical strength and excellent recyclability; and a rare earth-based bond magnet obtained by use of the rare earth-based bond magnet composition.
SOLUTION : A rare earth-based bond magnet composition is superior in recyclability and comprises : rare earth-transition metal-based magnet powder; and a binder. The rare earth-transition metal-based magnet powder is blended at 70-97 mass% to a total mass of the composition. The binder includes a crosslink type polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) resin of 200-2000 poise in melt viscosity (measured at 300°C with a shear rate of 600 s-1), in which the crosslink type PPS resin is blended in a range of 70-100 mass% to a total mass of the binder resin. The rare earth-based bond magnet composition further comprises bentonite which is blended at 0.05-4 pts.mass to 100 pts.mass of the binder resin.
