The present invention relates to a composite part comprising at least : - a fibrous reinforcement comprising silicon carbide fibers having an oxygen content of less than or equal to 1% as an atomic percentage, and - a matrix present in the porosity of the fibrous reinforcement and comprising at least one rare earth silicate, mullite or a mixture of mullite and at least one rare earth silicate.
