PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a nano luminescent material that is easy to achieve not only monochrome luminescence in the visible light region, but also color tone design (intermediate color design) by changing a dispersion ratio of rare-earth elements or controlling a wave length of excitation light.SOLUTION : An aqueous solution dissolves an yttrium nitrate powder or an yttrium oxide powder as a base material, a powder of a nitrate of a luminescent rare-earth element or a powder of an oxide of a luminescent rare-earth element as an additive, and a dispersed surfactant and pH controller. These mixed materials are made a micellar structure and deposited by a homogeneous deposition method in the aqueous solution. The deposit is heated and sintered, and heated again after a cool down step to remove impurities. Nanoparticles of yttrium oxide doped with the luminescent rare-earth element are thus obtained in a manufacturing method of a luminescent material.
