PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a rare earth permanent magnet excellent in magnetic properties and having high electric resistance and a method for manufacturing the same.
SOLUTION : The rare earth permanent magnet is formed by using a mixed powder of a magnet powder of a rare-earth iron-based magnet and a metalloid powder having a melting point higher than that of the magnet powder, upon sintering, the rare-earth iron-based magnet of the magnet powder having a melting point lower than that of metalloid melts and a grain boundary phase dissolves, so that solid metalloid 13 diffuses between grain boundaries 12. Since the metalloid 13 is captured into the rare-earth iron-based magnet 11, a filling rate is improved, while maintaining high electric resistance, so as to provide a high-density rare earth permanent magnet with high relative density.
