PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a rare-earth magnet capable of suppressing overcurrent loss even after installation on a motor in a low-cost and simple configuration. SOLUTION : The rare-earth magnet includes : a magnet element assembly containing rare-earth element and iron; a resistive layer formed on at least one surface of the magnet element assembly. The resistive layer contains rare-earth element, iron and oxygen and has an average volume resistivity of not less than 103 Ωcm and a thickness of 3-25 μm.
