PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a manufacturing method of an R-T-B based sintered magnet including a diffusion processing method capable of performing diffusion processing with higher mass production efficiency than the prior arts.SOLUTION : A manufacturing method includes the step of diffusing heavy rare earth elements contained in a diffusion source over sintered magnet pieces by rotating a processing container 10 while heating it in a state where a processing space of the processing container 10 is filled with the sintered magnet pieces, the diffusion source containing the heavy rare earth elements and a stirring support member. The manufacturing method also includes the steps of : uniformly disposing the sintered magnet pieces, the diffusion source and the stirring support member in a throw-in container 110 having a length smaller than a lower half of the processing space and equal to or larger than 80% of a length of the processing space entirely in a length direction; tilting the processing container 10 at an angle exceeding 10° and less than 25° from a horizontal plane in such a manner that a closed opening comes to a lower side, and inserting the throw-in container 110 from the other opening into the lower half of the processing space; rotating the throw-in container 110 at 180° at least; and pulling the throw-in container 110 out of the processing space.SELECTED DRAWING : Figure 9COPYRIGHT : (C)2017, JPO&INPIT
