PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a polycarbonate resin having high surface hardness, high flame retardancy and with less foreign matters.SOLUTION : The polycarbonate resin has a repeating unit derived from bisphenol or biphenolic compound, and the content of the structural unit derived from a compound represented by formula (2) is ≥20 ppm but ≤1, 000 ppm. In the formula (2), Rand Rare each independently (un)substituted 1-20C alkyl or (un)substituted aryl, and X is single bond, (un)substituted alkylene, (un)substituted alkylidene, or (un)substituted sulfur or oxygen.
