PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for producing an iron-based alloy fine powder containing a rare earth element, which provides a bonded magnet having high magnetic characteristics and excellent weather resistance. SOLUTION : The method for producing an iron-based alloy fine powder containing a rare earth element comprises : a first step of pulverizing an iron-based alloy powder containing a rare earth element in a solvent containing an organic solvent, and adding a phosphate compound in the pulverization, thereby obtaining a fine powder whose surface is coated with a phosphate film; and a second step of subjecting the obtained fine powder to heat treatment at a predetermined temperature. In the second step, a dimethyl silicone oil is added to the obtained fine powder in an amount of 0.01 mass% or more and 0.5 mass% or less, and heat treatment is performed at a temperature of 150°C or higher.
