The main object of the present invention is to provide an active material having a favorable cycle property. The present invention achieves the object by providing an active material to be used in a fluoride ion battery. The active material includes a crystal phase having a layered perovskite structure and is represented by A_(n+1)B_nO_(3n+1-α )F_x.
