PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a Cu-Al-Mn-based shape memory alloy material excellent in breaking resistance when repeating deformation is conducted and an application using the same. SOLUTION : There is provided a Cu-Al-Mn-based shape memory alloy which contains Al of 3.0 to 10.0 mass%, Mn of 5.0 to 20.0 mass% and one or more selected from Ni, Co, Fe, Ti, V, Cr, Si, Nb, Mo, W, Sn, Mg, P, Be, Sb, Cd, As, Zr, Zn, B, C, Ag and misch metal of total 0.000 to 10.000 mass% and the balance Cu with inevitable impurities, and has crystal particle length a in a direction vertical to the processing direction of the alloy material is equal to width or diameter R of the alloy material, present amount of X of 1 or less, where X is the number of particle boundary of crystal particles with a=R each other and the number of repeating load and release of press providing 3% strain on the alloy material of 102 or more.
