PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an earthwork material using a residue generated after treatment of sludge containing rare earth by acid, capable of reducing heat energy needed for burning because burning temperature is low and capable of being used for applications such as light weight aggregate because it is light weight. SOLUTION : There is provided a granular earthwork material by burning granulated article consisting of a mixture of a residue generated after treatment of sludge containing rare earth by acid and hydroxide of alkali metal (for example, sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide).
