PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a recording ink which enables the reduction of the amount of curl in a standard paper right after printing, is excellent in image quality of the standard paper and high-speed compatibility, is excellent in discharge stability, and is excellent in drying characteristics in a general-purpose printing paper; and to provide an ink cartridge, an inkjet recording method, an inkjet recording apparatus, and a matter recorded by ink.SOLUTION : The recording ink comprises at least water, a water-soluble organic solvent, a surfactant, and a colorant. The recording ink further contains, as the water-soluble organic solvent : one or more polyalcohol having equilibrium water content of 30 mass% at 23°C under humidity of 80%RH; and at least one amide compound expressed by the general formula (I) (wherein Rand Rare each methyl group; and Ris 4-6C alkyl group).
