PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a game device which resolves a paradoxical psychological problem experienced by a player with respect to operation media low in discharge rate (such as rare cards) and allows a game to be played without always carrying a large amount of operation media.SOLUTION : A game device having operation media, such as a card, as operation means of game progress includes alternative card recognition means which registers as character data on the alternative card in the current game character data on a normal card selected by a player on the basis of ownership information about the normal card strung with player information when an alternative card is used for a game, and recognizes the alternative card to be used for the current game as a normal card owned by the player corresponding to the character data.SELECTED DRAWING : Figure 22
