In a method for producing a nanostructure, a strontium titanate powder is prepared, the strontium titanate powder and a rare earth compound are mixed in a solvent, and a dispersion is prepared. The mixture ratio of strontium titanate powder and rare earth compound is 0.02 to 0.20 as a rare earth element/Ti molar ratio. The dispersion is evaporated to dryness to prepare a dry residue substance, and the dry residue substance is molded to produce a molded article. Furthermore, the molded article is sintered to produce a sintered body.
