PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide methods of diagnosis and treatment planning production for, e.g., emotional and behavioral disturbances known as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). SOLUTION : A method comprises comparing the amount of at least one marker, such as P-11, UBE3A, STY1, EMAP-11, SIP1, ORC5L, DCX or SCYE protein in a biological sample from a subject suspected of having PTSD and/or a subject having a suicidal ideation tendency, to a normal subject amount of the at least one marker in a normal subject not having any psychiatric disorder or a past amount of the at least one marker in the affected subject; where the differential between the amount and the normal subject amount or the past amount is indicative of a psychiatric disorder in the affected subject.
