The present invention provides a method of selectively extracting thorium from a rare-earth metal leaching residue, comprising : (step 1) a step of manufacturing a leaching solution by adding an acid solution and a reducing agent to a rare-earth metal leaching residue; and (step 2) a step of adding an organic phase including an extracting agent to the manufactured leaching solution. According to another embodiment of the present invention, provided is a method of selectively extracting thorium from rare-earth metal leaching solution, comprising : (step i) a step of adding a reducing agent to a leaching solution including thorium, cerium, and other rare-earth metals; and (step ii) a step of adding an organic phase including an extracting agent to the leaching solution to which the reducing agent has been added.
