PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide : an electrode material having adequate lithium ion conductivity even with a high coverage of a carbonaceous coating on inorganic particles; an electrode including such an electrode material; and a lithium ion secondary battery having such an electrode. SOLUTION : An electrode material for a lithium ion secondary battery of the present invention comprises : inorganic particles expressed by the general formula, LiFexMn1-x-yMyPO4 (where 0.05≤x≤1.0, 0≤y≤0.14, provided that M is at least one element selected from Mg, Ca, Co, Sr, Ba, Ti, Zn, B, Al, Ga, In, Si, Ge and a rare earth element); and a carbonaceous coating covering the surface of each inorganic particle. The electrode material has at least one peak of a micropore diameter distribution in a range of 0.4-5.0 nm. An electrode for a lithium ion secondary battery according to the invention comprises the electrode material for a lithium ion secondary battery. A lithium ion secondary battery according to the invention comprises a positive electrode, a negative electrode and a nonaqueous electrolyte, and it has, as the positive electrode, the electrode for a lithium ion secondary battery according to the invention.
