PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method of recovering rare earth elements which can recover low-concentration rare earth elements with high selectivity while reducing environmental load without environment contamination. SOLUTION : A method of recovering rare earth elements comprises the step of bringing green algae of Scenedesmus, or an algal processed product thereof, or an extract therefrom into contact with a rare earth element.
