PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for recovering rare earth metals capable of achieving industrialization, above all a technique useful for recovering magnetic bodies and the like such as discarded neodymium magnets or shaving debris caused in manufacturing the magnets.SOLUTION : There is provided a method for recovering rare earth metals comprising a step of electrolyzing a dialkyl sulfone solution having at least dissolved rare earth metal ions in an electrolytic cell so as to electrodeposit the rare earth metals on the surface of a negative electrode.
