PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a substitution of a cost effective rare earth element in a composite garnet structure, which is used for a microwave applicable without spoiling magnetism of a material.
SOLUTION : A microwave radio frequency (RF) device includes garnet in which yttrium or other rare earth metals are reduced, or substantially excluded. Specifically, the composite garnet is modified so that yttrium (Y) or other rare earth metals in the garnet are reduced, or excluded, and at least some of the yttrium (Y) in the garnet structure is replaced with other chemical substances such as combination of bismuth and one or more high-valence ions, in the method. The method for modifying the composited garnet is to use the bismuth (Bi) instead of some of yttrium (Y) on a dodecahedron site in the garnet structure, and preferably, nonmagnetic ion of high-valence which is larger than +3 is introduced in an octahedron, and replaced with some of ion (Fe) in the garnet, in the substitution.
