PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a phosphine-palladium complex which is a novel compound useful as a polymerization initiator of 2-substituted acetylene having substituents at α and β positions of acetylene.SOLUTION : There is provided a phosphine-palladium complex represented by general formula (1). In the general formula (1), Rand Rrepresent a group selected from an alkyl group and an aryl group, the alkyl group and the aryl group may have a substituent, but Rand Rare not same group, Me represents a methyl group, X represents a group selected from a halogen group, a tosyl group, a triflate group and a mesyl group, and y represents an integer of 1 to 2.
