SOLUTION : Material powder 5 is poured into a space 11 formed of a lower punch 2 and a die 1 so that said powder 5 is pressurized and compressed into a desired shape between an upper punch 3 and a lower punch 2. The upper punch 3 is moved upward to open the upper end face of the die 1, and the lower punch 2 is moved upward to push up a molding 51 and out of the die 1 thereby to compress and mold the powder 5. In this case, a coating material 24 is attached to the outer circumference of said lower punch 2, and this coating material 24 is impregnated with a lubricant, and this lubricant is applied together with the molding action to the inner circumference of the die 1.
EFFECT : Without interrupting a molding operation, a molding of material powder can be continuously performed while applying a lubricant satisfactorily simultaneously with the molding operation, so that a compact or the like of a rare earth alloy can be extremely efficiently compressed and molded.
