PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a magnet for rotary machine and a component for rotary machine contributive to enhancement of the torque of a motor and to enhancement of the exciting voltage of a generator, and to provide a rotary machine producing a high torque or a high exciting voltage.SOLUTION : A magnet 1 for rotary machine is composed of an alloy powder containing a rare earth element and Fe, where the filling factor of the alloy powder is 80 vol% or higher, and the surface forming an air gap has an inclined plane 11 arranged in non-parallel with and non-orthogonal to the axis of rotation of a rotary machine. Since the inclined plane 11 is provided, the air gap can be increased when compared with a rotary machine having the same outer diameter, and the torque of a motor including the magnet 1 can be enhanced, and the exciting voltage of a generator including the magnet 1 can be enhanced. The magnet 1 can be produced by subjecting a powder molding produced by pressure compressing polyphase powder, where the phase of a hydrogen compound of rare earth element and the phase of an Fe-containing material exist, to dehydrogenation treatment, and performing separation of hydrogen and recombination of a rare earth element and an Fe-containing material. Since the polyphase powder has excellent moldability, a magnet 1 having the inclined plane 11 can be molded.
