RECOVERY METHOD OF RARE EARTH

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method in which, after performing oxidation treatment to a treatment object including at least rare earth and iron group element, a treatment environment is transited to an environment under presence of carbon, then heat treatment performed, for separating the rare earth as an oxide from the iron group element, in which, two kinds of block objects obtained by performing heat treatment to the treatment object which has been subjected to oxidation treatment under presence of carbon, one of which is a block object mainly formed of the oxide of the rare earth and the other of which is a block object mainly formed of an alloy with carbon and the iron group element, can be efficiently separated with small force, in which the two kinds of block objects exist independently and in a manner of contacting each other. SOLUTION : The method of the present invention is configured so that, after performing heat treatment to the treatment object which has been subjected to oxidation treatment under presence of carbon, temperature reduction from 1350°C to 1300°C is performed at speed equal to or faster than 5°C/minute.
