PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a superconducting wire which comprises a superconducting stabilizer whose producing process is comparatively simple, which may be produced at low cost, and has sufficient residual resistance ratio (RRR), where the superconducting wire may be used stably. SOLUTION : There is provided a superconducting wire 10 comprising wires 15 consisting of superconductor, and a superconducting stabilizer 20 arranged to contact the wires 15. The superconducting stabilizer 20 consists of copper material which contains one or more supplemental element selected from Ca, Sr, Ba and rare earth element within a range from 3 to 400 mass ppm in total, in which the balance is Cu and unavoidable impurity, and whose total concentration of the unavoidable impurity except for O, H, C, N, S as gas component is 5 mass ppm to 100 mass ppm.
