Disclosed in the present application are a rare-earth permanent magnet material preparation method and rare-earth permanent magnet material, the method comprising : after a process of pressing a blank and before an isostatic pressing process, arranging a rare earth source powder on the pressed blank on a surface perpendicular to a magnetic field orientation, the weight percentage of the heavy rare earth element of the rare earth source powder being not less than the weight percentage of another rare earth element. The present invention can perform a step of adding a rare earth element after the process of pressing the blank, therefore products in various shapes and sizes can be prepared. The process of this method is simple, and improves Hcj while not changing the traditional method, and Hcj is even in distribution.
