PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide spherical fine particles that inhibit anisotropic growth and agglomeration occurrence and can hold a spherical monodisperse state for a long time, and a method for producing a crystalline oxide. SOLUTION : The present invention provides a method for producing a spherical fine particle whereby a fine particle of oxide, carbonate, or hydroxide of a rare earth element is produced by crystallization method, where at least one of a nucleation process and a particle growth process of a spherical fine particle uses a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compound having a structure represented by the following formula.
