PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a hot-processed magnet formed of fine crystal grains with few coarse particles which is capable of a high orientation and superior in magnetic characteristics. SOLUTION : A molten metal of an alloy which contains an RE (rare-earth element), Fe and B as major components is allowed to be swiftly cooled while in contact with a rotary roll 1 to prepare a tissue base powder 4 of amorphous or a mixture of crystalline and amorphous. The base powder or a compact 8, which is formed of the base powder in a cold treatment, is swiftly heated to a temperature higher than a crystallization start temperature at a temperature rising speed of 400°C/minute or more.
