PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an optical glass suitable for an optical element having refraction index (nd) and Abbe number (νd) in a desired range and low partial dispersion rate (θg, F) at lower cost. SOLUTION : An optical glass contains, by mass%, a SiO2 component of 10.0 o 40.0% and a Nb2O5 component of 40.0% or less with mass sum (Nb2O5+TiO2+ZrO2) of 10.0 to 60.0% and has a refractive index (nd) of 1.65 to 1.90, Abbe number (νd) of 25 to 45 and partial dispersion rate (θg, F) of 0.615 or less.
