PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for producing an oxide particle of rare earth element that prevents binding between particles to produce a monodisperse oxide particle of rare earth element.
SOLUTION : The method for producing an oxide particle of rare earth element has at least a step (A) to a step (C) as given below. The step (B) is a step of drying at least a dispersion liquid including a particle of a carbonate of rare earth element, a hydroxide of rare earth element or an oxalate of rare earth element, a dispersant and an ionic crystalline compound in which either a melting point or a decomposition temperature of the ionic crystalline compound, whichever is lower, is higher than a firing temperature. A step (A) : a step of forming a precursor particle by utilizing a crystallization method; a step (B) : a step of drying a dispersion liquid including at least the precursor particle formed in the step (A); and a step (C) : a step of firing the precursor particle dried in the step (B).
