PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To achieve synthesis of a material having a ThMn12 structure without using a third element lowering magnetization, thereby to provide a high performance magnet material having a high saturation magnetization, anisotropy magnetic field and Curie temperature.
SOLUTION : A rare earth anisotropic magnet material is represented by general formula : RT12 Ny (where, R represents at least one rare earth element selected from the group consisting of Y, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Yb and Lu, T represents at least one element selected from the group consisting of Fe, Co and Ni, and y satisfies 0.5≤y≤1.5), and has a ThMn12 crystal structure. A nitrogen atom is located at a position between R atoms in the ThMn12 crystal structure.
