PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for producing a rare earth magnet, capable of eliminating lowering of coercive force due to cracks that may be generated in a crystal during hot plastic working. SOLUTION : A method for producing a rare earth magnet includes : a first step of producing a sintered body S by subjecting powder for a rare earth magnet to pressure molding; a second step of producing a rare earth magnet precursor C by subjecting the sintered body S to hot plastic working that provides anisotropy to the sintered body S; and a third step of producing a rare earth magnet RM by cooling the rare earth magnet precursor C at a cooling rate of 10°C/s or more.
