PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method of exo-selectively producing an alkoxysilyl group-containing norbornyl compound without the need for complicated catalyst preparation processes.SOLUTION : A method of producing an alkoxysilyl group-containing norbornyl compound comprises reacting 2-norbornene, by using a platinum compound-containing catalyst in the presence of an ammonium salt of a weak acid, with a hydrogen organo oxysilane represented by the general formula (1) defined by HSiR(OR), where Rand Rare C1-C20 substituted or unsubstituted monovalent hydrocarbon groups with Rand Rbeing identical or different and n is an integer between 0 and 2.
