POWER PLANT FOR DEEP SEA

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To solve such a problem that although a lot of rare metal and methane hydrate of energy source are sleeping in Japanese coastal waters, there is no power source when trying to mine them by Japanese strong technology, i.e., a safe and durable robot, and although there are examples of challenge on the principal of electric motor, they are not put to practical use due to many problems, and to solve these problems by a simple structure. SOLUTION : A crank is converted into rotational motion by means of an electromagnetic direct-acting solenoid, as a power source. The solenoid has a simple structure, and since water is allowed to enter a sliding portion, a pressure-resistant structure is not required. It can operate in any deep sea. The solenoid has problems of duty factor and stroke, which are solved by using a plurality of solenoids, or by operating a thyristor while timing the (+)(-) pulses by means of a micro computer.
