The present invention relates to an LED encapsulant comprising rare earth metal oxide particles. More particularly, the present invention is represented by chemical formula 1 in a polymer resin, and includes compound having an average particle size of 10 nm to 5 μ m. An encapsulant composition of the present invention dramatically improves light extraction efficiency created on an LED chip. In the chemical formula 1 : M is Sc, Y, La, Al, Lu, Ga, Zn, V, Zr, Ca, Sr, Ba, Sn, Mn, Bi, or Ac; and a is 1 or 2, b is 0 to 2, c is 0 to 3, and d is 0 to 3.
