The purpose of the present invention is to provide a separation and recovery method for rare-earth magnets, a manufacturing method for rare-earth magnets, and a manufacturing method for a rotary electric machine. In this separation and recovery method for rare-earth magnets, first, a rotor (object to be separated) (1), comprising a rotor core (2) and a permanent magnet (rare-earth magnet) (3), secured to the rotor core (2) with an adhesive (4), is heated in a vacuum with a hydrogen partial pressure of 1 kPa or below or in a non-oxidizing gas (heating step). Then, the temperature of the rotor (1) is maintained at a temperature of 850-1150°C in a vacuum with a hydrogen partial pressure of 1-15 kPa or in a non-oxidizing gas (prescribed temperature range step). Then, the rotor (1) is cooled in a vacuum with a hydrogen partial pressure of 1 kPa or below or in a non-oxidizing gas (cooling step). The adhesive (4) breaks up and the permanent magnet (3) is separated and so recovered.
