FIELD : welding. SUBSTANCE : invention relates to aluminum alloys; it can be used, when manufacturing products by friction welding with mixing. An aluminum alloy for producing a product by friction welding with mixing contains, wt.% : from 1.8 to 5.6 of copper, from 0.6 to 2.6 of lithium, and at least one element selected from lanthanum up to 1.5, strontium up to 1.5, cerium up to 1.5, praseodymium up to 1.5, aluminum is the rest. A method for producing an aluminum alloy includes weighing initial materials to obtain a set composition, loading initial materials to a crucible that is placed in a chamber, removing air from the chamber to a set vacuum level, melting, pouring into a mold and cooling, homogenizing, tempering in water, purifying and hot rolling, at least one of : processing on a solid solution, cold rolling or extracting, aging.
