PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a spheroidal graphite cast iron excellent in abrasion resistance without conducting a specific heat treatment and using expensive rare metals.
SOLUTION : There is provided a spheroidal graphite cast iron containing, by wt.%, C : 3.20 to 4.00%, Si : 1.40 to 3.00%, Mg : 0.02 to 0.08%, Cr : 0.01 to 0.20%, further Mn : 2.50 to 3.00%, Cu : 0.80 to 2.00% and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities, and having area percentage of pearlite in a matrix structure after firing of 80% or more, area percentage of decomposed cementite in a range of 10 to 15% and excellent in abrasion resistance. There is also provided a manufacturing method of a spheroidal graphite cast iron by casting semifinished product with a prescribed shape at a cooling speed of 2.0 to 8.0°C/second. by using a molten metal with the composition, holding the semifinished product in a temperature range of 900 to 1100°C for 5 to 30 minutes and cooling it at 1 to 8°C/minute.
